The premise of Yin yoga is simple, if a little counterintuitive: we use time, not effort, to create change in the body. This monthly workshop series at Chi-Town Shakti explores a different theme each month — beginning with Ahiṃsā, non-harming, the first of yoga's five Yamas and the ground the other four stand on. Held the first Saturday of every month; future dates and registration at the link below.

Free community offerings have been part of this practice since 2024, born out of a desire to support collective well-being beyond the studio. This fall, that commitment continues through a new weekly partnership with the Chicago Public Library. Future free community classes and in-person events will be announced here, in the newsletter, and on Instagram.
